The average weight is 1.8kg. New Zealand only. Brownish grey with fine longitudinal black lines. Shape oval, with short rostral hook on upper jaw. | | Main Season: | Caught all year round in small quantities. | | Resource: | Most common in the south where it is caught in depths down to 100m as a by-catch from trawling. A very small resource, seldom available for export. | | Characteristics: | Flesh similar to turbot. Apricot coloured or white, whitens on cooking.
