Family: Triglidae ( Gurnards)
Description: The average size is 30-50cm, weighing less than 0.5-1.5kg. Reddish pink, sometimes brownish above, and white below. Large bluish pectoral fins each with one dark spot and several small white spots. Scales too small to need removing.
Main Season: Landed all year round.
Resource: Caught mainly by trawling. Moderate resource.
Characteristics: Flesh firm, pink, medium to low fat content and suitable for most methods of cooking.
